Elizabeth Puckett Primm's Obituary
Elizabeth was the first born child of Hubert and Deazree (Lane) Puckett. She was the big sister to 10 siblings and was known as "Lib" to her brothers and sisters, but always Elizabeth to her parents.
Lib graduated from Paw Creek High School in Charlotte. She married her high school sweetheart, Dwight Primm in 1951, She was preceeded in death by Dwight in 2015, after 64 years of marriage.
"Penny" as she was affectionatly named by her first grandchild, Michael, loved to spoil her grandchildren. They loved her home cooked meals and in true Penny fashion, there was always Coke (in the little bottles) available and ice cream Treats in the freezer. Her "cheesy eggs" were a breakfast favorite and of course, toasted pound cake.
Her love of baking cookies, brownies and pound cakes morphed into a business that produced hundreds of wedding cakes for her family, friends and the community for many years. Each of her homemade mints were decorated individually to match each wedding cake.
Penny was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte and was active in the Madeline Tyson Sunday School Class. She was an active member of The United Methodist Women.
Penny is survived by her daughter, Elaine Stroff (Michael) of Emerald Isle, NC, her son David Primm (Lynette) of Dallas, NC, her grandson Michael Stroff IV (Christina) of Uvalde, TX granddaughters Elizabeth Howes (Chip) of Raleigh, NC, Brittany Henderson (Jarryd) of Dallas, NC, and Katelyn Primm (Kevin Tibbetts)of Charlotte, NC. Her great grandchildren are Amelia, Michael V, Carleigh, Abby, Luke, Henry, Hatcher and Layne. Lib had dozens of nieces and nephews.
Lib is survived by her sisters Jane Adams, Betty Robinette and Gail Krause and her brothers Billy Puckett and Jimmy Puckett. She was preceeded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Todd, Joan Bowers, Susan Wells and her brothers Dicky Puckett and Bobby Puckett.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Cemetery, 7415 Pleasant Grove Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216 on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
