Elma Neethling's Obituary
Elma Neethling, 57, of Huntersville NC peacefully passed away on September 13th 2024 at the Hospice facility in Kannapolis NC. She was preceded in death by her father Jacobus Johannes Retief Uys and her brothers Gideon Retief Uys and Anton Retief Uys. She is survived by her husband (of 31 years) Christiaan Ludolph Neethling, her daughter Ghitte Neethling and her mother Susara Cornelia Uys.
Elma was born on February 8, 1967 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She worked in the broadcast industry for many years both in front of and behind the cameras and loved every minute of it. She was happiest when she was with her family, including pets. She was a beautiful person with a zest for life. She was smart and incredibly talented. We lived and traveled all over the world. She had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh and she had the ability to make everyone that she dealt with feel special and loved, because she genuinely cared. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain people. Over so many great meals at our various houses in various places we had so many joyous occasions and so many memorable moments with so many wonderful friends and family.
There will be a celebration of Elma's life service Friday, September 20, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Assurance United Methodist Church, 9700 Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078. The service will also be screened live on https://www.youtube.com/@AssuranceUMC.
