Elvira "Bonnie" Eleanor Bokenko Farrell's Obituary
Elvira “Bonnie” Eleanor Bokenko Farrell, 86, of Huntersville, NC, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Bonnie dedicated her life to her family and her calling as a nurse. She spent most of her years in Shore Acres-Brick, NJ, where she raised her six daughters and later worked as an LPN in the ICU at Point Pleasant Hospital, as well as an Office Manager for several surgeons. After retiring, she lived in Toms River, NJ, with her beloved husband, Tom.
Nearly a decade ago, Bonnie moved to Huntersville, NC, to be closer to her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She found joy in her beautiful home surrounded by blooming rose bushes, vibrant flowers, and the peaceful Carolina blue sky. Bonnie was a woman of great Catholic faith, deep devotion, and enduring love. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was a loving and proud mother to her six daughters, devoted grandmother, and a deeply caring friend. She was especially proud of her six daughters and her nursing career. She cherished family traditions watching Notre Dame football. Her warmth, love, wisdom and generous spirit live on in the next generation of her growing family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom, with whom she shared fifty years of marriage, her parents, John and Pauline Bokenko, her brother, Kenneth Bokenko and her son-in-law Robert D. Bassini Jr.
She leaves behind her six loving daughters: Julie Farrell of Toms River, NJ; Laura (Vinnie) Savoia of Wellford, SC; Sharon Bassini of Toms River, NJ; Jackie (Steve) Grafton of Venice, FL; Pauline (Don) Ambrose of Sebastian, FL; Kara (John) Kobosko of Lake Norman, NC. She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Services will be held at 11.00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Huntersville, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11.00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at Ocean Country Memorial Park Chapel in Toms River, New Jersey.
