Mrs Ogle was my teacher and she was the reason I really loved medicine. Her love for nursing and everything about patient care made her students strive. A lot of us have become doctors and nurses because of her influence and her dedication to her students. Amazing teacher and amazing human being she was

I worked with Emma at Vance, in fact we were next door neighbors on the upper Science hall. Emma was one of the best teachers who helped so many of her students to connect with medical programs as interns, and obtain scholarships for college. She was an outstanding in-school workshop presenter. We would borrow lab equipment from each other from time to time. My daughter had her as a teacher, and ranked Mrs. Ogle's class as one of the best learning experience at Vance. I enjoyed being in
her company. I continue to lift the other family members in prayer.
I am so sorry for the loss of Emma Neil. I went to Mercy School of Nursing with her. We had many good memories back in Nursing School and we just had our 41st Reunion recently she was going to come. We were back in contact last year on FB. Your family will be in my prayers

I worked with Emma at both Vance High School and Garinger High School. She was the most loving, giving person that I have ever met. She would do anything for anyone. I was so happy when Emma came to Garinger, because I knew that she would be such an asset to our staff and students. I watched her be such a wonderful mentor to teachers and students. We have lost a most outstanding person and educator. I am so fortunate to have met Emma and she will always hold a special place in my heart. -Cindia Thomas
Emma Neil McLaurin Ogle will hold a special place in my heart forever. I remember all the times we spent playing together as children and how much we enjoyed our summer visits to each other’s homes. I remember how proud her family was when she became a Registered Nurse. I remember when she spent a week in the hospital with a cousin because he felt more confident as he underwent surgery with her present. Had not fate intervened, she would have taken me to the hospital for a medical procedure Friday. When I asked her to accompany me, she replied “It would be my honor.” The day after her father died, her mother had a heart attack in her presence. Emma Neil immediately went into nurse mode and performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and transferred her mother to a hospital. I think of the additional years we enjoyed being with her mother due to her actions. Her love of nursing led her to teaching as a way to share her knowledge with another generation of future health professionals. I will miss her being an active part of my life and will love her forever without judgement.
Emma Neil, I remember holding you as a baby, I was nine years old. I watched you grow up, and we had some really good times with family, friends, Church and growing up in the country on a farm. You always wanted to be a nurse and care for others. As a teenager, you worked in our family physicians practice. You went on to earn your RN degree, and became one of the best Echogram heart nurses and rendered care and love to patients, and helped your co-workers along the way. I will always treasure your surprise visit to see me at my work over a year ago. Will always love you. Rest in peace.
To Emma Neil's family, I am so sorry for your loss and the pain that comes with that loss. I attended Mercy with her and am so happy to have known her. Love and peace sent to you.
Emma was always such a generous person. She always encouraged others and was so helpful to other teachers. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I pray for peace and understanding as I know she will be greatly missed.
