Eugene Falls' Obituary
Eugene Durham Falls, Jr. (Gene), of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 17,2018.
Gene was born in Greenville, SC on January 16, 1949 to the late Eugene Durham Falls, Sr. and Joan Fowler Falls Fuller. He attended East Mecklenburg High School, graduating in 1967. He attended and graduated from Gardner Webb University with a degree in Business Administration (1971). Gene worked 38 years for Patent Construction Systems where he loved his job as a salesman. He was always proud to say that his customers and coworkers were more than business relationships, they were his faithful friends. But, his first passion was golf. He was a long time member of Pine Island Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf with his “buddies.” Gene never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone and many teased him for asking “so many questions!” Gene was a remarkable man with a forgiving heart, he never held a grudge. He was a member of Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder as well as Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
Gene is survived by his wife of forty years Kay, his beloved daughter Chelsea who very affectionately called him Deda, and his steadfast friend, his dog Paisley. He is also survived by a sister, Debbie Falls, a brother Curt (Pam) Falls and nephew Noah Falls, his brother and sister- in law Billy and Angela Sherrill, nieces Jennifer Plummer, Beth Locklear and nephew Kevin Sherrill; as well as, many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Gene Falls, Sr, his mother Joan Falls Fuller, paternal grandparents WC and Ruth Falls, and maternal grandparents Clarence Fuller and Carrie Wardrip.
Funeral Services will be held at Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church on Sunday January 21, 2018. Visitation with the family before the service in Fellowship Hall from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Service will begin at 3:00pm with graveside services immediately afterward. The Reverend Vern Dodd will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to Abundant Life Ministries for Peru, 6010 Meadowbrook Rd., Benton Harbor, MI. 49022, Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church or Bethel Presbyterian Church.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
