Eugene Puckett's Obituary
Eugene “Gene” Mack Puckett, Jr., 86, of Huntersville, died August 15, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville. He was born on May 5, 1926 in Mecklenburg County to the late Eugene Mack Puckett, Sr. and Janie Mae Price Puckett. He served in the US Army, Private 1st Class, Company “D” 2nd Infantry, 5th Division. He was a decorated veteran and served in WWII.
Survivors include wife Bobbie Jo McMahan Puckett; son Larry Puckett and wife Robin of Huntersville; daughter Patti Tilley and husband Tony of Mooresville; daughter-in-law Patty Puckett; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Eugene M. Puckett, III; wife Edna Ritch Puckett; brother James Puckett and sister Jane Wayland; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Joshua Taylor Scholarship Fund c/o Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 10500 Beatties Ford Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
The family will receive friends from Friday, August 17, 2012 from 6-8 PM at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Purtill and his special brother-in-law, Rev. J.E. Wayland, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
