Eva Patterson Elder's Obituary
Mrs. Eva Jo Patterson Elder, 91, of Mooresville, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Miss Jo was a native of Elijay, Georgia and moved to N. Carolina to be close to her daughter and family.
On her 90th birthday, a house was rented in Newnan Georgia as a gathering place to celebrate her special day. Attending Miss Jo’s birthday were her much loved relatives and family friends. Miss Jo commented fondly after the celebration day, “I can not believe how much I am loved by everyone…I will treasure this day for the rest of my life….how wonderful!”
Miss Jo enjoyed traveling from time to time; seeing places over seas and visiting her son in Michigan. She also enjoyed eating out and had quite a few special restaurants she went to. She liked taking part in the corn hole games at the retirement community where she lived. Most of all, Miss Jo loved spending time with her family. For her, they were the most precious thing in her life.
She wed Mr. M.H. Elder Jr. on June 5, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1972.
Miss Jo is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Jodi (Andrew) Pipas, her son, Mr. Matthew H. Elder III (Annette), 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Miss Jo will be interred next to her husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan, Georgia, Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10 a.m.
A memorial celebration honoring the life of Miss Jo will be held Saturday, June 10, in Senoia Georgia.
