Evelyn Blythe's Obituary
Evelyn Blythe passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born on September 25, 1937, in Charlotte, NC to the late William and Willie Blythe. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend to many.
She was known to be the most kind-hearted mother who loved deeply. Her selflessness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. One of her greatest passions was her children.
Evelyn retired from Novant Health Orthopedic Hospital after twenty-five years of service, she was an active member in her community and church. She loved traveling, playing bingo, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind four loving daughters, Patty (Pat Wilson), Sheila (Mike Laws), Teresa Hardee, and Myra (Al Black); nine grandchildren, Misti, Hannah, Adam, Bonnie, Caleb, Blake, Cassie, Eythan, and Brandon; fourteen great grandchildren, Garrett, Addison, Logan, Ruia, Morgan, Etta, Marena, Jaxson, Everette, Lura, Andon, Rowland, Ida, and Isla; brothers, Tommy Blythe (Doris), Gary Blythe (Carolyn); and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held on Sunday, April 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 6230 Beatties Ford Rd., Charlotte, NC 28216. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM and the memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM. The interment will follow at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 8600 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd., Huntersville, NC 28078.
