Florence Bell's Obituary
Mrs. Florence Anna Bell, 80, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 while surrounded by family.
She was a native of Highland Park, MI (by way of Alabama) and moved to North Carolina in 2011.
Florence was a homemaker; she stayed home and took care of the family. She was a long-time member of New Grace Baptist Church in Highland Park, MI prior to relocating to Charlotte. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with friends and family. Most family gatherings were at her home and she cooked everything, feeding anybody that walked through the door. She was known by many as the “Cake Lady”.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Demmie Crum; son, Earnest Bell Jr.; and siblings, Edna Mae Crum, Willie Crum, Lee Crum, Mattie Andrews, Eddie Crum, Jr., Claudette Rembert, Demmie Hensley, and Floyd Crum.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Earnest Bell Sr.; brother, David Lee Crum; children, Dorethea Eley, Anjanette Sorsby (Marc), and Regina Dix (Melvin); grandchildren, Ortez Fields (Cherish), Kelvin Dix, Keonte Dix, and Malik Jones; great grandchildren, Reign Fields, Kingston Dix, Legend Fields, Legacy Fields, Jase Teamer, and Carter Harris; and other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Mrs. Bell's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at James Funeral Home. A repass will follow at James Funeral Home Community Room.
