Florence Jenny Finizio's Obituary
Florence Jenny Finizio, 93, of Huntersville, formerly of Maynard MA, died peacefully on July 19, 2023 at Lakeside Health and Rehab in Huntersville, NC. She was born in Staten Island, NY, a daughter of the late Carl and Grace Saieva. She attended Hunter College in NY, worked at the Enterprise Newspaper, Sears Roebuck, and then retired from the Town of Maynard, MA Treasurers Office where she served as the Assistant Tax Collector.
She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Frank; and her siblings, a brother and four sisters. She is survived by her son, J. Joseph Finizio and wife Nancy; daughters, Edith Bemis and husband John and Linda Bailey and husband Scott; her ten grandchildren; and three great granddaughters, who brought her an abundance of love and joy. She is also survived by two sister in-laws; Lillian McPhee and Kathy Nobile; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
When Jen was born, her given name in Italian was Alfonsina Giovannina, which translated to Florence Jenny. She was very loving, caring and devoted to her husband and family, and she had many gifts and talents. Among them were cooking, baking, knitting, and sewing. She was also very organized and enjoyed keeping all the family recipes, photographs, and genealogy records for her family.
The memorial service for Jen's Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 24, 11:00 AM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. The family will receive friends following the service with a time of reception.
