Frances Brackett Hudson's Obituary
Frances, 88, of Cornelius, formerly of Spring Trace Drive, went home to be with the Lord that she loved so much and served faithfully over her life. She is now reunited with her son, Otis Donald Hudson Jr., her mother, father, brothers and sisters who have been waiting for her.
Frances was proud to be one of God's children. She often called herself "A Professional Volunteer of God." Frances traveled to many countries, serving as a dedicated missionary for the United Methodist Church. She was an active member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church, and most recently in her later years, a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was a loyal advocate for the elderly, serving as an ombudsman for the state of North Carolina.
Left to cherish her memory, she is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann Michael (Gil); Frances Marion Perdue (Michael); and Judith Elaine Dalton (Michael). Also left to cherish her memory is Noi Hunsa Tongma Wong, her adopted daughter in Thailand. She adored her granddaughters, Jessica Munday Holcombe (Jamie), Charlene Hudson Belher (Mike) and Amee Warren (Jarrod). She cherished making memories with her four great-grandchildren, David Holcombe, Amber Warren, Hannah Holcombe and Hudson Holcombe.
A visitation will be held at 1:00pm, followed by a service to celebrate her life at 2:00pm, on Saturday, August 31, at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. A burial service will be held immediately after at Oak Grove Cemetery, located on Highway 115.
The family would like to thank the loving staff at Autumn Care of Cornelius for the wonderful care received by Frances. Donations may be made in Frances' memory to Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
