Frances "Mimi" Hollar Whiteside's Obituary
Frances Hollar Whiteside “Mimi”, 93, Passed away August 22, 2024. Frances was born June 9, 1931 to the late Frank and Ila (Boliek) Hollar.
Frances began her career as the switchboard operator for American Discount Corporation in Charlotte NC. American Discount Corporation later became American Credit Corporation. Frances retired as administrative secretary for the James G. Cannon Family Foundation.
Frances was a beautiful and talented artist, baker, cake decorator, seamstress, and avid reader. She loved the Lord, her family, the beach, and the Sparta, NC mountains. She was a devoted Carolina Panthers fan.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Tommy Whiteside, her daughter Karan Heglar, and sisters Barbara Dunn and Glenda Camp.
Frances and Tommy traveled the world and made their home on Lake Norman for over 50 years.
Our “Mimi” will be remembered for her kindness. She was happiest when she was with her family. Mimi was our heart and soul and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include daughter, Cindy Coggins (Mitchell). Grandchildren, Heather Coggins, Ryan Coggins (Amanda), Allen Heglar (Wendi), and Lindsay Hopkins (Oscar). Great Grandchildren: Luke and Kila Heglar, Ragan and Riley Hopkins, Emma Gray and Eleanor Coggins, and brother Gwyn Hollar (Diane).
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00am-12:30pm at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
