Franklin Losaw,'s Obituary
Franklin “Frank” William Losaw, Jr., 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Frank was the son of the late Franklin William Losaw, Sr., and Genevieve Cheney Losaw. He is survived by his wife, Shirley E. Losaw, to whom he was married for more than 57 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Gary Losaw and daughter in law Wendy Losaw, grandsons Alex and Garrett Losaw, and daughter Karen Temple. Also, survived by sister in law, Edna Borst and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in Troy, NY. He served in the US Navy on the USS Tawara during the Korean War. After he earned his bachelor’s degree and he worked with IBM as a Systems Analyst.
He accepted a transfer with IBM to Research Triangle Park and moved to Cary, NC in 1980. He retired early at the age of 58 and resumed a career in Real Estate. He and Shirley moved to Charlotte to be close to family in 2005.
He lived out his last year at Northlake House Memory Care Community in Charlotte.
He was very musical in his early years and played trombone in a dance trio and this is how he met his beloved wife, Shirley. He taught himself how to play electric guitar at 75. He was a dedicated and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. A man who always took time for his family.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of James Funeral Home at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 14 with Chaplain Harold Hudson officiating. Naval Military Honors will be performed at the end of the service and the family invites everyone attending to join them in a luncheon in the Community Room of James Funeral Home immediately following the Military Honors.
