Freddie Max Goebel's Obituary
Fred Max Goebel, 85, of Bradenton, FL, passed away October 24, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
He was born in New York the son of the late Max and Hilda Goebel. Fred was the oldest of two boys. After being stationed with the Army in the Philippines, he married the love of his life Hildegard (Hillie) Schmidt on February 5, 1961. Fred was brilliant with technical electronics and retired from NY Telephone in 1996. His travel adventures included many places from Hawaii to the Bay of Fundy to the Swiss Alps to Australia and Fiji. Fred could fix any engine, build extensions on a house, wire a transfer switch, rebuild boats and sail. There was not anything he couldn’t fix. He lived his life to the fullest, always remaining true to his passions from wine making, model airplanes, photography, stained glass creations and most recently fine woodworking and wood carvings. He always gave the best hugs.
In addition to his wife, Hillie, Fred is survived by his daughter and son-in law, Linda and Gary Robertson of Morrisville, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ralph Crunden of Denver, NC; daughter Susan Goebel of Huntersville, NC; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Fred was not one for thoughts and prayers but was full of love for his family.
Please honor his memory by loving each other wholeheartedly. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Fred’s memory to Carolina Caring hospice. https://www.carolinacaring.org/
