Frederick Bingham Prior,'s Obituary
Frederick Bingham Prior, Sr., 81, of Huntersville, died on May 5, 2011at Levine-Dickson Hospice House. He was born on December 30, 1929 in Newburgh, NY to the late Harry Bingham Prior and Eva Mae Carlue Prior. He retired from the US Army Security Agency, Unit 10 at Arlington Hall Station, Virginia and later retired from Shell Oil company. He was an avid craftsman and woodworker, and some of his folk art work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution and Museum in Washington, DC, and appeared in Smithsonian and Southern Living magazines.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Riddle Prior; sons, David (Lynda) of Huntersville, Harry (Kathy) of Seattle, Michael (Linda) of Jeffersonton, VA and Frederick, Jr (Debbie) of North Beach, MD; 7 grandchildren, Sean, Kristina, Jacque, Eric, , Jillian, Michelle and Lydia and 3 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tucker and Aubrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Levine-Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
A memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
