Gary Williams' Obituary
Gary Williams, of Mt. Holly, NC died December 16, 2022. He was born in Rock Hill, SC to the late Ralph and Mildred Williams.
If you knew Gary, you loved Gary. He was full of energy and loved life. He had many friends who loved him and thought of him as their "brother" or "buddy." He never met a stranger. He loved talking to people and helping people. He had a laugh that lit up a room and one that you would definitely recognize in a dark room.
Gary and his wife were married 35 years and spent their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They went back there every year to celebrate their anniversay in February and in October to enjoy the mountains and the fall colors. He and his wife loved spending time together.
His son, Tyler has written the following about him: My Dad was a great father who never gave up, no matter what. He always sacrificed to make my mom and me happy and to give me things he never had growing up.. He let me know he cared about me everyday, even if it wasn't directly telling me, he showed me. He was always asking if I had eaten or if I wanted food. He always told me to be careful when I left the house. Dad, thank you for always being understanding of me. Thank you for letting me have a cat, even though you didn't want one. He fell in love with you and you fell in love with him. Thank you Dad for loving me, your son, unconditionally. I love you.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; son, Tyler; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family as well as Tori and Lindsay, two nieces especially close to Gary's heart; siblings, Joyce, Frank and Terry. He is preceded in death by siblings, Charles, Phil, James, Tommy, Carolyn, Betty and Bonnie.
