George Ernest DiGregorio Jr.'s Obituary
George Ernest DiGregorio, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 after a long illness at the age of 82. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1943.
George served his country in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer First Class during the Vietnam War. There he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and his first Good Conduct Award. George volunteered his time with the Saint Andrew’s youth group in Roanoke, Virginia. In past years, he found a love for camping, riding motorcycles, working with model trains, and found a passion for aquatics. He retired from BankTec after supporting the Southeast region.
George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue DiGregorio of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Anne Noell and husband, Scott Noell of China, Grove; son, Anthony DiGregorio and wife, Jennifer DiGregorio of Mooresville; daughter Christina DiGregorio and fiancé Andrew Urbanek of Wolcott, New York; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mark Catholic Church on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM. the family will receive friends an hour before the Mass from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, 11:00 A.M, in the Salisbury National Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. The Mass can be viewed live at https://www.stmarknc.org/livestream.
