George Earl Andrews' Obituary
Captain George Earl Andrews, United States Marine Corps, Ret., age 77, of Charlotte, died on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was the son of the late, Robert Earl and Mimi Bartels Andrews and the husband of 49 years to Anne Marie Clarke Andrews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Jacob Andrews.
Captain Andrews was born in Sutter County, California and immediately after graduating high school, he joined the Marine Corps. He served over 30 years, experiencing two separate assignments in Vietnam earning many decorations, medals and citations during his combat duty.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Captain Andrews moved to Sneads Ferry, NC with his wife, where he enjoyed fishing and boating and later moved to Charlotte. He was of the Lutheran Faith.
In addition to his wife, Ann Marie he is survived by his daughters, Kerri Anne Perrigin (Shawn) of Columbus, MS, Lisa Marie DeLuca (Paul) of Fayetteville, GA and a son, Joseph W. Delach (Nancy) of Eldersburg, MD; nine grandchildren; a sister, Ann Marie Sattler (Jake) of Boise, ID; brother-in-law, Jimmy Clarke (Mary) of Falls Church, VA., sister-in-law, Mary Agnes (Vince) Tassa of Dumphries, VA., and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Captain Andrews will be held at graveside at a later date in Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC.
