So sorry to hear about Sid's death. On Halloween this year, my wife and I were reminiscing about the bonfires at Sid's farm where the neighborhood would meet. We brought our daughter there in the late 1980's. Her grandparents Dal and Evelyne Sims lived near Ramah Presbyterian Church. That community event was a safe alternative to Trick or Treat. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows and weenies and the fellowship. Thank you, Sid, for all that you did for the community!!
When I came to this country from London as a child of eleven, I spent my summer with the Nance family and what a joy that was! Sid was like a big brother, rode me around the farm on his scooter and teased my English ways. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the whole family and it now holds heartfelt sympathies for Doodle, Frank and all of Sid’s family.
Sid was a giant of a man. We grew up in the Ramah community and were life long friends. His common sense about anything was beyond measure and his attention to detail will be hard to duplicate. His death ends a life, that was well lived.
