Special thanks go out to his son by marriage, Robert (Dianna) Packer, his buddy and friend; their children, Bobby Packer, Chase Packer, Lexy Packer Pike and grandchildren, his step-son, Phillip Packer and daughter Amber Packer. There are six very pampered fur babies who are missing his lap. He will also be missed by numerous extended family members and friends.
George was a native Charlottean graduating Harding High School with the class of 1962. He worked many years in the HVAC industry and retired from Comfort Design. Prior to that he worked in tractor trailer parts and also as a restaurant manager for various establishments including his very own “George’s Midday Lunch”. After retirement he enjoyed fishing Lake Norman, as well as the North/South Carolina beaches, including the Outer Banks. He enjoyed nature and tending to all the birds that consider “Puckett House” their haven. There was never a lack of food as he always kept the feeders well stocked with seed. He was most happy at home and at the beach and he enjoyed listening to beach music wherever he was. His and Sandra’s favorite beach song is “Miss Grace” by The Tyme’s. It was playing when they first met. “The minute I saw your face I knew that I loved you.” He took pleasure in trying his luck at Harrahs Casino as well as lottery and scratch off tickets. He was close with his brother and sister and they met regularly for lunch dates.
