George Vincent's Obituary
George Paul Vincent of Denver, NC; died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Born in Oran, North Africa; George migrated to the United States at the age of 17, and became a US citizen on May 20, 1952.
Mr. Vincent is survived by his wife of 32 years, Constance Templeton Vincent; a step-son, Chadwick Garrett Bowles of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Kathy Overcash and Karen Bolton both of Charlotte, NC; two grandsons and two granddaughters.
Mr. Vincent served 3 years in the US Army 82nd Airborne. He served (fulltime) 34 years in the NC Army National Guard, and retired with the rank of First Sargent. He loved to display the US flag.
Mr. Vincent was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Denver, NC.
Mr. Vincent loved to bowl and coached YABA for many years. He also loved gardening and music. He played the saxophone for many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 Friday, October 26, 2012 at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville, NC, with Rev. Carol Clark officiating.
