Dear Jim and Laurel,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Gerry 7 years ago through Newcomers Club. She was a kind and caring person who always wore a smile. I enjoyed playing mah jongg with Gerry over those years, and she did so much for the club, serving on the Board from 2007 until 2011 and continued to be a chairperson for many activities. It was a privilege to know her. She will be missed by all who knew her.

During times of loss we cling to those cherished memories. Rose and I adored Gerry and her wonderful, bubbly and energetic personality. One of favorite cherished memories was when our family came to visit Jim and Gerry in North Carolina. After a day of sight seeing we spent the evening talking and sharing stories until late into the night. We had so much fun, shared so much laughter. Boy did we have a blast that night. I can still hear Gerry laughing. We will truly miss her, her smile and her laugh.

I met Gerry in 1991 when I became employed by Lutheran Home at Topton. We were both Senior Center Managers in different towns. Once a month, the managers would have a meeting to discuss issues and plan activities with the other 7 senior centers.
I was always amazed by Gerry's ability to brain storm and give helpful suggestions.
We attended a conference at Penn State and became fast friends.
Our friendship than lead to including our husbands. We would go out to eat dinner every Friday night at a local restaurant.
She will be greatly missed. I will remember her fondly.

Karl and I are saddened by the loss of Gerry. I have know Gerry for over ten years through Newcomers. She chaired many of the activities I enjoyed participating in, over the years, with her quiet charm. Karl and I always looked forward to seeing Gerry and Jim at Taste of the Town. Gerry and I both enjoyed going to the International Luncheons the last few years. Last year when she couldn't drive, I had the privilege of picking her up for these luncheons.
