Gladys W. Smith's Obituary
Gladys Witherspoon Smith, 84, of Cornelius, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at her residence.
She was born in Charlotte, NC on February 19, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Molly Dellinger Witherspoon, and the wife of the late Robert McGirt Smith. She was a homemaker and a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by four children; Pamela Smith File and husband Grover of Anderson, SC, Robert Stephen Smith and wife Nancy of Huntersville, Randolph McGirt Smith and wife Lorraine of Huntersville, and Thomas Michael Smith of Cornelius; two brothers, Charles “Bud” Witherspoon of Charlotte and James “Scooter” Witherspoon of Greensboro; 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2:00 PM, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
