Gloria Rochelle Romano's Obituary
Gloria Rochelle Romano, age 85, of Huntersville, NC, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, while in the care of Novant Health Medical Center of Huntersville. Gloria was born on February 23, 1941, in Chicago, IL to Richard C and Verles (Siemen) Sherman.
Gloria was born in Illinois and later ventured west, drawn to the breadth and beauty of the landscapes beyond the Midwest. Her life carried her from the wide, rugged expanses of Alaska to the bright lights of Los Angelos before she eventually made her home in Reno, Nevada. A lifelong lover of nature, Gloria found joy in the outdoors, especially in caring for the birds that visited her yard and the pets that shared her home.
She now reunites with her sister Marlene and her daughter Jessica Ryan. Gloria is lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren, Sarah, Katherine, Ben and Anna as well as her son-in-law Sean Ryan.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 7:30 PM, at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
