Grace Guidice's Obituary
Martha “Grace” Guidice of Denver, NC, formerly of Venice, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on 8/3/2022.
Grace was born February 2, 1934, in Xenia, Ohio to Martha & Edmund Gastineau. Married to John Guidice, deceased. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Renegar; son in law, Patrick Renegar; grandchildren, John, and Allison Renegar.
Grace’s parents were both educators and she whizzed through high school and attended Women’s College (UNCG) at the young age of 16. After graduating from college, she moved to Miami, FL. There she worked as a computer programmer for Eastern Airlines. After meeting the love of her life in Miami, she and John traveled to many countries and especially enjoyed safaris in Kenya and Tanzania.
Within a few years their daughter, Jennifer, was born and they moved to Charlotte, NC. She volunteered countless hours with the Charlotte Nature Museum and was involved with Discovery Place. Grace was always very physically active, and enjoyed yoga, long walks, and playing tennis. She loved to play bridge at the bridge club and was a Life Master bridge player. She and John devoted lots of time to raising beautiful orchids in their greenhouse and displayed them at many orchid shows.
John and Grace eventually retired in Nokomis, Florida. Grace became an avid basket weaver and served as a docent at historic Spanish Point in Osprey. She shared great times with her grandkids by visiting often and enjoyed hiking in the mountains with them by her side. Her memories eventually faded, but her grace and kindness will always be remembered.
