“Cy”
The lord called Graham Cyrenius Alexander affectionately known as Cy, to his heavenly home on September 18th 2024, aged 92 years. He was born in the Mallard Creek community of Charlotte on September 6th 1932 to George C. and Willie H. Alexander.
Graham “Cy” was a lifelong member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church. He grew up and was the fourth generation owner of a family farm adjacent to the church. He attended Newell High School where he excelled in baseball and landed his first occupation as a school bus driver. After graduation in 1950, he helped his father maintain a small dairy on the family farm, then began work as an electrician apprentice for his brother. In 1975 he received his license and started his own Electrical Contracting business specializing in custom home electrical installation throughout Mecklenburg county. Cy retired in 1995 and bought his dream farm in the Hamptonville community of Yadkin county. He spent the last 30 years of his life enjoying sitting on his front porch, talking with his tenant farmers, Braves baseball and spending precious time with his family. Throughout his life Cy was known for his hard work and telling things exactly as he saw them, no filters.
In addition to his parents Cy is preceded in death by his brother Miles S. Alexander. He is survived by, his loving wife of 54 years Sarah T. Alexander: their children, Graham Cyrenius Alexander Jr and Amy A. Johnson (Tucker), grandsons Jared A and Samuel A Johnson. His siblings Betty J. Sawyers and James K. Alexander, along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Mallard Creek Church Road, on September 23rd at 3:00pm, the family will receive visitors at 2:00pm at the church.
