Gregory Cox's Obituary
Gregory “Greg” Neal Cox, 52, of Denver, went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 26, 2022 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born on December 1, 1969 in Encino, CA to Jodie Cox and the late Richard Cox.
Greg grew up in the Hickory Grove area of Charlotte, NC where he participated in Boy Scouts and numerous youth sports. He particularly loved baseball and played at Independence High School and Methodist University. He was especially proud to be a member of the College World Series teams in 1991 and 1992. Greg graduated from Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. Greg and his family moved to the Denver, NC area in 2002 where he coached youth baseball and had a positive impact on a number of boy's lives. Greg was the owner of Lake Norman Frameworks and Gallery and was involved in the Denver community through his store, community auctions and charity events since 2007. In addition to coaching, Greg enjoyed duck hunting and had a passion for playing golf.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his sons, Chris and Tyler Cox of Denver and daughter, Katie Cox of Denver; siblings Tom and wife Kennifer of Matthews, NC and Doug and wife Tammy of Charlotte, NC; three nephews William, Jacob and David Cox, two nieces Kelly and Mackenzie Cox and a special friend Kelly Pope.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, August 29th at James Funeral Home in Huntersville.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 30th at Denver United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntersville United Methodist Church or Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte region.
