Guy Bostian's Obituary
Guy Calvin Bostian, Sr., 73 of Davidson, graduated to glory January 17, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital-Huntersville surrounded by his loving family. He as born on August 30, 1939 in Iredell County to the late Howard Lee Bostian, Sr. and Ruth Gurley Bostian.
Survivors included his wife of 53 years, Carol Rice Bostian; daughter, Jodie Bostian Popple of Mooresville; son, Guy C. Bostian, Jr. and wife Janet of Davidson; siblings, Howard L. Bostian Jr. and wife Rose of Mooresville, Louise Belk and husband David of Mooresville, Robert Bostian and wife Barbara of Las Vegas, James Bostian and wife Donna of Stoneville, Gail McKight and husband Jimmy of Davidson; grandchildren, Guy Bostian, III, Tyler and Chase Popple.
He was a highly respected man by all who knew him, for his generosity and helping others in their time of need. He was also a man known in the "gates, he sat among the elderly of the land."
Guy left home at 15 years of age to go to work as a brick mason. Following that by creating his own business; B&M Masonry in Brookville Ohio. After moving to North Carolina, he started Bostian Construction Company. When not working he enjoyed the game of Golf with friends and grandsons. He never missed the opportunity to cheer on his grandsons at athletics events. They were his pride and joy.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at Hopewell Baptist Church, 18841 Davidson-Concord Rd., Davidson, NC 28036
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arohova Drive Huntersville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday at James Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
Guy's family wants to extend much thanks to all of you wonderful family and friends for the love you have showed to Guy over the years. You were all such blessings to him. Many thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and acts of kindness you have given in the recent months.
