Hallette Dawson's Obituary
Hallette Christiana Dawson, “Chris”, was born on July 22, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia. She passed away on November 10, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Hospital in Gastonia, North Carolina.
As a daughter of a foreign service officer, she grew up all around the world. She lived in Panama, Greece, and Germany all before the age of 18. In between overseas posts, they returned to Washington DC.
As an adult, she was a resident of Herndon, Virginia for 37 years. In 2016, she moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina to be closer to her daughter and grandsons. Most recently, she was a resident of Brookdale Union in Gastonia where she served as a resident ambassador.
She was a talented and published poet, and a treasured friend to many. She found beauty in every aspect of her life. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy.
She will be remembered and missed by her daughter, Emily Reis; son in law, Justin Reis; grandsons, Connor and Harrison Reis; and her sister, Jessica Dawson.
Please join us to celebrate her life at a graveside service on Wednesday, November 15, 1:00 PM at Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville. A celebration of life will be held in Northern Virginia at a later date.
