Hank Ausdenmoore's Obituary
Cornelius, NC - Henry S. Ausdenmoore, Hank, age 61, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 21, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Charlotte, NC shortly after graduating from Indiana University in 1987. He married his wife, Billie, in 1994. Hank’s education and skill as a fitness and health consultant brought physical fitness to NASCAR race teams and personal clients in the Charlotte area for many years, followed by a long career in real estate investment and property management.
His family was Hank’s highest priority. Whether coaching, cheering them from the sidelines or providing advice and support as they moved into adulthood, his sons knew they could count on him. For the last several years, Hank and Billie treasured their early retirement, filling it with family time, home improvements, exercise, water sports, beach life and traveling.
Christian faith was always a focus of Hank’s life and is a source of comfort to his loved ones. He and Billie raised their family as active members of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville NC where Hank served as a Eucharistic Minister and on various committees. Most recently, they attended Saint Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville NC.
Physical wellness and activity were lifelong habits for Hank. A competitive swimmer, cyclist and triathlete, he directed triathlon races for many years in the Charlotte area. Hank was cycling on a bike trail near his home when he experienced sudden cardiac arrest that led to his death. His healthy lifestyle continues to enrich the lives of others through the process of organ donation.
Survivors include his wife; two sons: Clay and Josh; mother, LaVerne; four siblings: Bob, Kathy, Tim and Chris; mother-in-law, Joyce; an aunt; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; two brothers, Dan and Bernie; and his father-in-law, Bill.
A Catholic Funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 17 at 11:00 AM at Saint Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to American Red Cross, American Heart Association and the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
