Harold Sloan Archer, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Huntersville at his home. He was born to Frank and Eloise Archer on November 7, 1937, in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Harold was a long time faithful member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church. He drove and retired from Estes Express Trucking Company. He chose to do local to be with his family and have his feet under his own table.
He married the love of his life Frances Keith after a wonderful first blind date. They shared a once in a lifetime love for 60 years. Only a few months after getting married, he was drafted by Uncle Sam to prepare for the Bay of Pigs in Cuba.
He met his best friend Dr. Bobby Brayboy. He was in the Army from 1961-1963. After he left Uncle Sam, he moved her to “ The Hill” to be with her family. He wore many hats over the years but his most favorite was father and grandpa AKA Poppy. He loved and adored his 3 kids, 6 grandsons and one great grandchild.
He was very involved, hands on and in the middle of all life’s important moments.
He was a very spiritual and giving man. If you ever needed him you would find him at church(HPC), in his garden or with his family.
He was such a wonderful man who had many accolades. In high school it was courteous and most dependable. He was even in Future Farmers of America Club. In the Army he was made MP (Military Police) small but mighty.
For all of his involvement in church he was given the honor/award Elder Ameritus.
For the lucky ones who really knew him he was Harold, Howie, Daddy, and Poppy.
