Harry Donaldson's Obituary
Harry Eugene Donaldson, 91 of Cornelius, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021.
Harry was a lifelong resident of Cornelius. He retired from Crescent Electric (now Energy United) after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid gardener and in his later years spent many hours in his rose garden.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Elizabeth Lipe Donaldson, his parents, Julius Eugene Donaldson and Naomi Beaver Donaldson, and his sister Faye Boyles.
Harry is survived by his children Paula Byers, Gordon Donaldson (Debbie) and Glenda Helms (Eddie), nine grandchildren Gary Byers (Kara), Wanda Oxendine (Jody), Tommy Donaldson (Brandy), Brian Byers (Chelsea), Michelle Fite (Shane), Heather Prokupek (Brian), Tammy Tobin (Eric), Alisha Donaldson (Larry Williams), and Jesse Helms, eleven great-grandchildren, and his beloved labrador Buddy.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Denise, Devon, Diane and Bobby who took wonderful care of Pop during his last few months. You are all truly extraordinary and we are blessed to have you as part of our extended family.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 10:00 AM at James Funeral Home. The interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Cornelius. The visitation will be held the night before on Wednesday, May 5, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, NC or the Cornelius Animal Shelter, 19110 Meridian Street, Cornelius.
