Harry Lee Kelly's Obituary
Harry Lee Kelly age 80 of Charlotte, NC, died November 17, 2017 at Novant Health Huntersville Hospital.
Harry was born in Charlotte, July 5, 1937, son of the late Annie Wallace Kelly and Walter Oren Kelly. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Terry Tyson Kelly, sons Lyn Kelly and Jody Kelly (wife Kristi); daughters Kristi Kelly Steenrod (husband Brian), Kate Keele; daughter-in-law Tracy Godfrey. Harry is also survived by three grandchildren Austin Kelly, Jake Kelly, Sloane Steenrod and four sisters, Betty K. Rector (Ted), Joyce K. Joy, Anna K. Robinson (Ronnie), Martha K. Eveland (Win).
Harry was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School Class of 1955, a member of the NC National Guard for nine years and worked for Bowman Transportation for 18 years. He retired as a Distributor of Interstate Batteries servicing the Piedmont Area of North and South Carolina. Harry was a member of the Long Creek Masonic Lodge and Paw Creek American Legion Post 353.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 3:00pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Cemetery located at 7301 Pleasant Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church (PGUMC); 1915 Oakdale Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Greetings of friends and a fellowship meal will immediately follow the memorial service at the Family Life Center.
