Hazel Auten's Obituary
Hazel Honeycutt Auten, 82, of Huntersville went to be with the Lord September 19. She was born on September 27, 1933 in Johnson City, TN to the late Jess and Locke Honeycutt. She was a longtime member of Williams Memorial Presbyterian, where she served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder and Women of The Church president. She taught swim lessons and enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She retired after 30 years of operating Auten’s Grill, a family business she ran with her husband Ted.
Survivors include her husband Ted Auten; sons, Mike of Charlotte and Mark (Wife Amy) of Huntersville; brother Bob (Wife Judith) of Albany, GA; and grandchildren, Erin, John, Kevin and Madison.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 21 at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Vogado officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Lake Norman or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
