Helen Carnegie Lacey, of Huntersville, NC passed away on February 25, 2018 at CMC hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Helen Sandra Carnegie was born October 8, 1949 at Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Daughter of Helen DeVane Carnegie and Prosser Sands Carnegie Sr, sister of Prosser DeVane Carnegie. She spent most of her life in Davidson, NC. Helen attended South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, and graduated from Converse College in 1971 with a degree in Political Science. She was a Duke Energy employee for 27 years.
Helen was a vibrant, intelligent, strong willed, beautiful soul who brought inspiration to the lives that she touched. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, she was the definition of unconditional love and strength. She married her soul mate, Sean Seabury Lacey December 02, 1983 and their love continued to grow and flourish as years passed. Helen was a pillar in her family and devoted her life to bringing joy and love to those around her. She will be adored and forever missed.
Survived by husband Sean Lacey, daughter Kate Lacey, son T. Stewart, daughter in law Olivia Stewart, brother Sandy Carnegie, sister in law Robbie Carnegie, brother in laws Chris Lacey, Todd Lacey, preceded by Jeff Lacey, sister in laws Connie Lacey, Sandee Lacey, and Beth Lacey. Grandchildren Ethan Stewart, Vivian Stewart, and Remi Stewart. Nephews, Prosser Carnegie and Justin Lacey, nieces Annie Seier, Katrina Borer, Nicole Fisher, and Ashley Lacey.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 2 at Davidson College Presbyterian Church with Pastor Robert Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online condolences may be made at www.jamesfuneralhomelkn.com.
