Helen Schrider Higgins, of Washington D.C., died peacefully with daughter Susan at her bedside on December 22, 2021 at the age of 91. In her final weeks, she enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren. Compassionate and Read Obituary
Gene was a student at Marquette University in 1950. My husband and Don Thibeau were also students there. Our friendship with Gene and Helen endured over many years, despite living very far apart. Marilyn and Don Thibeau, Agnes and Jim Prindiville attended Gene and Helen's wedding ! I have saved many of Helen's Christmas cards. They stayed with us to attend Don's funeral in 1993. My husband passed away in 2014 and Marilyn passed away a few months ago. We shall all reunite in Paradise !

Sending warm condolences to all you Higgins kids with the passing of your dear Mother. I am enjoying all the wonderful family photos posted on this page. I have fond memories of your Mom and Dad in the neighborhood and all you kids at Lafayette playground (your backyard). I remember my Mom and Dad frequently coming to dinner at your home and playing bridge together. They so enjoyed your parents company and having that "quiet time" to themselves. Imagine that with families of 8 and 9 kids!
I wanted you to know that a few of us Nash siblings have some of the terracotta reliefs your Mom gave to our Mom, and cherish them. I'll upload a photo of them. I also have many of the Easter handmade linoleum block cards your mom lovingly made. What a magnificent artist she was, as well as the most loving, kind and gentle woman. A long life well-lived to its fullest. May she rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers from all of the Nashes.
