Helen Therese Klee's Obituary
Helen Therese Klee, 86, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 08, 2026.
She was born on September 19, 1939 in Ashland, WI. Helen was a daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Bonneville Ouellette. Raised in Ashland, Wisconsin, she graduated from Marquette University, majoring in accounting.
She married her beloved husband, Hart, on September 29, 1962, and celebrated their 60th anniversary before his passing in 2023.
Helen was a devoted wife and mother. When her children were young, she was always volunteering at St Peter’s school in Wisconsin and held officer positions on the school board. In her later years, she and Hart moved to Santee, SC and became active in her community. She held officer roles in the Garden Club and the Ladies Golf Association. Helen also supported Hart in the helping build St. Ann's Catholic Church and columbarium.
Helen always had a passion for music, learning to play the piano as a child. She was a member of the church choir during her years in Wisconsin. After moving to Santee, she volunteered her time and talents to St. Ann’s, where she took great joy and pride in cantoring.
Helen deeply loved her family. Her vacations and travels always centered on visiting and being with family. Frequent trips were made to northern Wisconsin or Olean, New York to visit parents with her children. After her mother passed away, her father moved in with Hart and her so she could care for him for eight years. Frequently she would travel to California or Michigan to visit her grandchildren. She was very proud of every one’s accomplishments.
In her free time, Helen enjoyed: golf, rosary, reading, friends, bridge, hand and foot, crossword puzzles, scrabble, theater, and Friday date nights with her late husband and friends.
Helen is survived by her two children, Terry (Kevin) Allison and Chris (Elizabeth) Klee; three grandchildren Douglas Allison, Alexandra Klee and Harrison Klee; one sister Mary Lou Duffy. She is preceded in death by her husband Hart Klee and her parents Joseph and Louise Ouellette.
A service will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, 11am at St. Ann's Catholic Church (with a Rosary at 10:30). The internment at the columbarium will follow the service where she will be forever with “her Harty babe”.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Santee, SC.
