Henry M. Sherrill's Obituary
Henry McClelland “Clell” Sherrill 84 of Stanley, NC passed away on Sunday April 2, 2017 at his residence.
Clell was born in Denver, NC on September 28, 1932 to the late Henry Francis Sherrill and the late Edna Black Sherrill. Clell worked for Duke Power one year before serving in the United States Army for two years. He returned home and was employed with Pilot Freight Carries for thirty-three years, and Duke Power for five more years before retiring. After retiring Clell enjoyed many activities outdoors with his hunting dogs and his yearly garden.
Clell is survived by his wife Janice Pridgen Sherrill of sixty years, three children Denise Michele Sherrill of Stanley, Henry Kevin Sherrill and wife Kimberly of Unionville, and Keith McClelland Sherrill and wife Emma of Stanley, three grandchildren Courtney Thompson and husband Edward, Hailey Sherrill, and Alisha Robinette, two step-grandchildren Ashlyn Penegar and husband Justin, and Noah Smith, and one step-great grandchild Mason Penegar, two sisters Ann Helton of Lucia, and Betty Sherrill of Stanley, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Clell is preceded in death by his parents Henry Francis Sherrill and Edna Black Sherrill, and two sisters Nancy Jones, and Helen Barker.
The Funeral services will be Wednesday April 5, 2017 at James Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Rev. Keith Sherrill and Rev. Cecil Ballard will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:30 at James Funeral Home with service to follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092
