Henry Thomas Pollock's Obituary
Henry Thomas Pollock
1941 - 2019
Henry "Hank" Pollock, of Huntersville North Carolina, departed this Earth on Sunday December 1, 2019. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a father, grandfather, accountant (numbers guy), connoisseur of fine wine, humorous, and someone that was socially progressive.
Hank was born on January 1, 1941 to Henry H. and Regina M. Pollock of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Des Moines, Iowa and he attended Dowling High School and then Drake University, where he studied accounting.
After earning a degree in accounting, he went to work in financial planning and business operations. Over the course of his career he worked for Massey Ferguson, Varity Corporation, Pillowtex, and as a consultant taking his family from Des Moines, IA to Buffalo, N.Y., and finally Mooresville, N.C. During that time he also became a CPA, earned an MBA from Drake University, and served in the US National guard.
He enjoyed a 48-year marriage with his wife, Patricia (Pat); raised their sons, Michael and Kelly; and enjoyed warm, life-long friendships. After Pat passed away in 2017, he met Glenis Reneau. They enjoyed traveling to visit family and touring the California wine country.
His parents, Henry and Regina Pollock, brother James Pollock, and wife Patricia Pollock preceded Hank in death. He is survived by son Michael (Kelly) Pollock and grandchildren Carly and Colin Pollock, Chapel Hill, N.C.; son Kelly (Andrea Allen) Pollock, Minneapolis, Minn.; brother David (Marjorie) Pollock, Tacoma, Wa. He was also survived by Glenis Reneau and her children.
Funeral services will be held in White Bear lake, MN in the spring of 2020.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Hank’s life in their own way or by gathering with friends and raising a glass of their favorite wine in his memory.
James Funeral Home is serving the family.
