Hepsie Tesh's Obituary
Hepsie McCullen Tesh, 88, of Huntersville, went to be with our Lord September 29, 2013.
Hepsie was born in Sampson County, NC July 7, 1925. Upon graduating from Faison High School she moved to Wilmington, NC and worked for the Atlantic Coast Rail Line. When she married, she became a homemaker caring for her husband and children.
She was active in her church, Little Church on the Lane Moravian Church in Charlotte, NC teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and a member of the Women’s Circle. Later she became an Associate member of the Mayodan Moravian Church. When she moved to Cornelius, NC, she supported New Beginnings Moravian Church in Huntersville, NC.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Tesh of Greensboro, NC; son, Samuel Tesh III and wife, Pam of Huntersville, NC; grandson, Page Tesh and wife, Amanda of Concord, NC and two great- granddaughters, Jordan and Riley Tesh. She is also survived by sisters, Ada Honeycutt and husband, Jerry of Autryville, NC; Lila Hollingsworth and husband, Morton of Chesterville, VA; Sylvia Baumgartner and husband, Roger of Cayucos, CA; and brother, Odell McCullen and wife, Phyllis of Kansas City, MO, as well as an extended family of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Samuel Tesh, Jr.; grandson, Joey Tesh; sister, Marguerite Basden and brothers, Clay and Joe McCullen.
A memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Moravian Church, 201 Seagle St., Huntersville, NC 28078 (near intersection of 115 and Ramah Church Road) at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 1, 2013. The family will receive visitors after the service.
The family would like to thank Hepsie's caregiver's at Olde Knox Commons and Hospice of Lake Norman for their loving care of Hepsie and her family. We also thank Rev. Christopher Thore and Janet Kaufman from New Beginnings Moravian Church for their dedicated visits and compassion, and Sarah Whitlow, Hepsie's best friend, for everything she does for our family.
