Herman Kerr's Obituary
Herman Vance Kerr, 79, of Charlotte went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2012. Herman was a veteran of the Marine Corp and served in the Korean War from 1952-1955. He was a truck driver for Kilgo Motor Freight, McLean Trucking Co., and Yellow Freight. He was an active member of University Hills Baptist Church and of the American Legion. After his retirement, he enjoyed plowing gardens, and bush hogging throughout the community.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Irene; children, Linda (Tom) Williams, Judy (Sean) Fenton, and Alan (Sheila) Kerr; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazeline Finch and brother Alton Kerr.
Visitation will be held from 6-8PM Monday at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at University Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Coye Still officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park (Philadelphia Presbyterian Church Cemetery).
