Elizabeth I am so sorry to learn of Mercer's passing. I wish I had known it sooner.
Dotty was my lifelong friend and Mercer was a great friend when they married. We communicated regularly but I hadn't been able to get in touch with him and found out this sad news. My best to you, Tommy and all the grandchildren. I hope they are all doing well. He was so proud of them.

We were so sorry to hear of Mercer’s passing. He and his wife were always the sweetest people and are missed. I had popped by to see him a year ago or so and he was the same as ever, smiling and gracious. Prayers to Elizabeth and the boys. Sending love. Kim and Bruce
I was able to meet Mercer through my mother Pat Seifert.
The thing I remember most was his passion and love for life. He was always so excited to talk about the things he loved. His camping experiences, his cars and the time he spent with his family.
I hope I can have the same enthusiasm about life as I grow older.

I met Mercer at one of our St Mark’s Respite social events through Pat Seifert. We immediately gravitated to him; he had a quiet sense of self assuredness - comfortable in any setting - while also being kind and caring. (Of course, we all fussed over him!) It did not take long for the deal to be sealed and we had forged many memories in a short amount of time! I am glad to have known Mercer as he left this life to enter his heavenly home!

I got know Mercer through his friendship with Pat Seifert. Every time I spoke with him, he had this brilliant smile that lit up the room. I enjoyed his positive outlook and was thankful for his friendship with my best friend, Pat. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I was fortunate to meet Mercer through my mother Pat Seifert. Although I do not live in NC, I was able to spend some time with him when visiting family and had many phone calls together.
Mercer was always gracious and generous with his time and shared his experience with me as we have similar careers and interests.
What I will remember most about Mercer is that he was a vibrant person who was full of positive energy and southern charm. I still feel that today.
I was very fortunate to have been back there for Mercer's 80th birthday party. He was very surprised by all his family and friends. He was a very good friend to all his neighbors and he will be missed!
