Howard Moore's Obituary
Mr. Howard Moore, 77, of Huntersville, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024. Howard was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and his family will forever remember how special it was that he passed on Veteran’s Day.
Howard will always be remembered as the very best husband and father. He was kind and loving to so many. He never met a stranger and loved to meet and talk with people. Blessed with thick, dark hair, he often styled it as one of his favorite stars, Elvis Presley. Howard loved classic westerns and a favorite cowboy was Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger. He loved animals and had cows, horses, chickens, and many dogs over his life. He was a faithful Christian and devoted his life to serving Christ which included serving in the church choir and as a deacon. He enjoyed farming and he loved to travel, often driving on unknown roads just to see where they’d take him. He enjoyed working on cars and loved his ‘57 Ford Retractable. He liked attending car shows and was proud of the trophies he won for his car. Howard enjoyed joking with people and had a great sense of humor. Few people were ever spared getting a pair of bunny ear fingers in photos. He was deeply loved.
Howard is survived by his “love at first sight” wife of 55 years, Clarine Moore, and their children; Jamie Moore (Shelley) of Huntersville, NC and Gena Craig (Calvin) of Gastonia, NC, grandchildren; Julia, Lacey, Sarah, Dylan, Taylor, Grace, Carley; 4 great grandchildren; brother Ricky Moore, sister Shirley Davis, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Centerpointe Baptist Church in Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM for the visitation and the funeral will follow at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.
