Iris Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Iris Nelson, 87, of Charlotte, beloved wife of James, precious mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
Iris was a native and life-long resident of Charlotte, graduating from West Mecklenburg High School in 1949. She enjoyed traveling to the coast, especially to Charleston, SC, gardening, and cooking. She was well known for her chicken ‘n dumplings, pound cakes, and chicken salad. Iris enjoyed all animals and lovingly took care of her family.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Parks Nelson, her parents; Theodore “Ted” and Dorothy Meacham, brother, Ted Meacham, and sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Sheets.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughters; Pam (Larry) LaFlamme of Huntersville, Tina Nelson, and grandson, Ryan Nelson both of Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time.
