Irving Harris Tucker's Obituary
Irving Harris Tucker, age 91, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, while in the care of Via Health Partners at Southminster Health Center, surrounded by his loving family. Harris was born on June 28, 1934, in Providence, RI to Stuart H and Ardelle (Drabble) Tucker. Harris graduated from Moses Brown School in Providence, Rhode Island, and then Babson College in 1952. He was married to Elizabeth Jane Boole on July 30, 1960. Harris worked in various banks in Rhode Island and New Jersey in Trust & Estate Banking. He was a proud SAR member, and held local offices in Rhode Island in the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
Harris was a hard-working man who valued honesty and integrity. He was a father who demonstrated his love by providing for his children and living each day with intentionality and appreciation for those he cared about. He encouraged his children to be responsible, self-sufficient, and independent as they grew into adulthood. He was always available to give advice and help his family when needed.
Harris thoroughly enjoyed traveling, most particularly on cruises with his wife Elizabeth. They traveled at various times on cruises to Tahiti, Hawaii, Europe, Portugal, England, Italy and up to areas of the North Cape.
Most of all Harris loved his family passionately. Photographing his children from an early age through college and afterwards was a favorite hobby. Photography remained a favorite hobby for Harris, including photos of nature, his family, and organizing photos from all his travels, including photos from time spent living in Naples Florida.
Harris is predeceased by his parents and his brother Bowen H Tucker. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years Elizabeth B Tucker, his son Jonathan Tucker and his wife Farah, his daughter Holly Goodman, his grandchildren Jacob T Goodman and Zachary A Goodman and his sister-in-law Jan Tucker, as well as nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI 02906.
