J.D. Hearne's Obituary
Javis Delano “J.D.” Hearne, 77, of Huntersville, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1934 in Albemarle, NC to Javis Fletcher and Martilda Smith Hearne. He was a member of the US Army and worked as Director of Maintenance for many years at the Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. J.D. also served as a deacon at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; son, Terry Hearne and wife Diane of Kannapolis; daughter, Elizabeth Hearne of Pine Knot, KY and Paula Wilhelm and husband Rodney of Huntersville; brothers Edward and Lyndell Hearne; sister, Wanda Smith and 5 grandchildren, Clint, Stephanie, Matthew, Nicholas and Bradley. He is preceded in death by his brother Worth.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Huntersville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
