J.W. Washam's Obituary
Jesse W. Washam, Jr (JW), 88, of Cornelius, passed away February 1, 2021 under the care of Hospice.
He was the youngest of 12 children of Jesse W. Washam, Sr. & Mary Knox Washam.
For 38 Years, he worked for Duke Power (Crescent Resources) Forestry Division as a Heavy Equipment Operator in logging building Lake Norman in the 1960’s. He loved his family, being outside working in the garden and riding his tractors taking care of his home.
JW is survived by the love of his life Deane Brown Washam, daughter Susan Washam Ford, Randall (son-in-law), granddaughter Christina Ford West & spouse Steven West. Also, Sisters Nancy Gray and Martha Ann Readling.
A Graveside (Only) burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 3 at Ramah Presbyterian Church where JW was a life long member. (If able, please park across the street at the church) The service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Alan Gray & Rev. George Slaton. There will be no Visitation or Greeting of the family due to Covid-19 (masks required).
Memorials can be given to Ramah Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Charlotte.
