Gene, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am in touch with several who were in our missionary orientation group. (Was it really way back in 1973?) Mary Horton let me know about Jackie's passing. She was such a sweet, gentle woman. May God abundantly fill you with His peace during this difficult time.
We want to express our sincere sympathies to Gene and his family in regard to the going HOME of his precious wife, Jackie. May you all experience the perfect peace and grace of our loving Father during the coming days. Our prayers with love!
We, too, were shocked to learn of Jackie's Homegoing! I had just talked to her the first of
the month. I noticed their was a difference in her voice but she did know me which always
encouraged me when we talked. We were in IMB orientation together. They went to France and we went to Kenya but transferred to Belgium in '94 where we developed a close relationship. Stan and our son, Jay, were good friends in orientation. Steve and our Lorrie were the same age. I know Jackie would not want to return to this sinful world but until we meet again I am missing her so much. We talked monthly by phone and shared our needs and ...just talked! Please know we are praying for you, Gene, and the boys. Jackie is okay. She is totally healed and waiting on you....not lost but found in the arms of Jesus.
We received the announcement of Jackie's death today, June 29th, in an email from Dennis and Janie Barton. It was a shock that has left us grieved in heart. Just to think of Jackie and Gene, the memories well up in our hearts of rich Christian fellowship and joyous times: the victories and the heartbreaks we shared in pioneer church ministries in France. Steve and Stan are also included in memories of times at mission meeting and around the table at the Phillips home or ours. Gene, Steve, and Stan please receive this expression of condolence and our love for you and your families as we remember Jackie; lovely lady, devoted spouse, wonderful, caring mom, and one in whose life the love of Christ radiated.
Jackie was such a classy lady. We loved running in to Gene and Jackie in the neighborhood during their daily walks. She is now in a better place. RIP Jackie.
