James T. Brown's Obituary
James T. Brown, Jr. of Huntersville, died Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was born on August 3, 1932, in Mr. Prospect, IL to the late James and Mabel Brown, Sr.
Jim married the love of his life, Annie, and they enjoyed over 65 years together raising a family, traveling and spending time with dear friends. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI and his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL. He was a Flight Surgeon in the US Air Force and a partner in an OB/Gyn practice in Pittsburgh, PA where he delivered thousands of babies over the course of his 40 year career. Jim was Medical Staff President of Magee Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh and served on the staff of the University of Pittsburgh.
Jim loved watching and playing all sports. He enjoyed boating, fishing, skiing, and basketball. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Oakmont Country Club where he was Club Champion in 1973.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Brown. He is survived by his daughters, Kirsten Erving (Tom) and Tracey Coon (Fiancé Brian Hill); grandchildren, Whitney, Madison, Austin, and Ryan; and sister, Marlene Groeneveld.
The family will have a private service in Florida at a later date.
