James Keith Comer's Obituary
James Keith Comer, 72, of Charlotte went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2019. He was born on June 29, 1947 in Richmond County, NC to the late Jack and Cleo Comer.
He served in the US Army from 1968-1970 in Germany where he achieved the rank of E5 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal Sharp Shooter M-14. Upon returning home, he worked as an accountant at L&N Tire Company and Parrish Tire Company until retirement. Keith enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hiking, hunting, serving at church, home improvement projects, mechanic work, working outside, and being the “fix-it man” for family, friends, and church. Keith also served as a deacon at Prosperity Presbyterian Church.
Keith always put others’ needs ahead of his own, thus providing a Godly example of having a servant mindset, attitude, and actions. He was hard-working and he displayed a willingness to help those around him with any projects, jobs, or repairs that needed to be done. Keith was a humble man of God who quietly led by his example.
He is survived by his wife Carol Comer; daughters, Leah Ann Brant of Mooresville and Mary Beth Miller and her husband Eric of Concord; brother, John Comer; and grandchildren whom he doted on, James, Daniel, and Silas.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 28 at Prosperity Presbyterian Church (5533 Prosperity Church Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269). Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 PM prior to the service.
